The Journal of Clinical Investigation/Insight at Columbia University just published a report detailing the findings of the effects a new drug, ruxolitinib, can have on hair regrowth, particularly on people with alopecia. The study found that the drug restored hair growth by a stunning 95 percent for three quarters of the people tested. The average regrowth rate for all of the people tested was 92 percent. And, most strikingly of all, this just took four months. The routine saw each person take an oral dose of the drug twice a day, which is not much work considering just how effective the solution was.said, “This is encouraging news for patients who are coping with the physical and emotional effects of this disfiguring autoimmune disease,” referring to alopecia.
We intend to keep you posted on this development as we get more news, but we want to contextualize it for you a bit too. The study only involved 12 people, which is not really enough to get an accurate idea of if it would work with a mass audience. The Guardian, meanwhile, reported that the drug wasn’t tested on the most common form of alopecia, “the common pattern hair loss that affects about half of all men and a quarter of all women by the age of 50. It was used on people with ‘spot baldness,’ the autoimmune disease that equally affects about one in 1,000 men and women.” This means it may be helpful for less of you than you’d initially believed.
Also, like most scientific discoveries, it takes a very long time to take the findings of one study and transform them into a product that can be sold on shelves or prescribed to you by your doctor. This is for good reason, of course, as it’s a method to make sure everything on the shelf is safe, and also not a scam.
With that said, though, if you’re losing hair already you don’t want to wait any longer to start growing it back. And however miraculous the cure may be, you need something that will work in the meantime. Luckily, we have several options ready for you. These are all tried, tested, and true, meaning they’ve all been heavily researched and medically tested before we began to offer them to you.
So, if you’re not willing to wait for something that may never shape up, we encourage you to get in touch with us today to find an already-proven solution that will have your hair back before the next ruxolitinib news hits the scientific press.
